The Parish Of Clontibret

Failte go dti an ait Idirlinn seo!

Welcome to the Parish Website of the Catholic Parish of Clontibret in the Diocese of Clogher, Co. Monaghan, Ireland.

Our Parish is a Community of Christian Faith, consisting of about 800 Catholic families with an approximate population of 2,700 people. It is located on the southern side of the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland; between the towns of Castleblayney, Ballybay and Monaghan. The parish territory is largely rural and covers an area of some 116 townlands. We have three churches and three Catholic schools - St Michael's at Annyalla, St Mary's at Clontibret and All Saints at Doohamlet.

In today's world, the Internet is a modern means of communications. In our constant quest for knowledge it is important to use modern and appropriate means of communications in order to bring people closer to God through His Church.

Contributing To Our Parish Community
The upkeep and ongoing renewal of our parish properties as well as covering the day to day costs of running a parish, is a heavy burden on parish finances. This is made more challenging by the economic climate in which we all find ourselves at present. We invite parishioners to assist the parish planned-giving income scheme. You may contribute through the weekly envelope scheme as at present or by direct debit.

Direct Debit: If anyone is interested in paying their Parish Envelope subscription by Direct Debit on a monthly basis, please contact one of the following members of the Parish Finance Council: Eddie Carragher (086 2545482), Geraldine McSkane (087 7718935) or Aidan McMeel (086 6089680) by 5th February 2012 before the new envelopes are ordered.

The Parish Finance Council thanks all those who contribute regularly and generously to parish finances.

50th International Eucharistic Congress

The Eucharistic Congress will take place in Dublin on June 10-17
2012. The theme for the 50th International Eucharistic Congress
is "The Eucharist: Communion with Christ and with one
another."
It is our hope that the theme will contribute to an enriched
understanding of the Eucharist as true personal Communion with Jesus
Christ and to a renewed understanding of the Church as an essentially
Eucharistic community.
