BE READY! Today’s Readings tell us that we should always seek
the light of Christ in our daily lives and keep burning brightly the light
received at baptism. St Paul reminds us that as Christians we have the true
hope of the Resurrection and that we should not grieve like those who have no
hope.

from Tyholland parish.

Visitation of the Sick and Housebound: The sick and infirm will be attended in their homes
in the St. Mary’s / Clontibret area on Friday11th.
DEDICATION OF ST JOHN LATERAN: On Wednesday next (9th Nov) the Church
celebrates the Feast of the Dedication of the Basilica of St John Lateran in
Rome. Why this church alone? It is the “Mother of all churches of
the City and the World”. It is the Cathedral church of the Pope, as Bishop
of Rome. The Feast is celebrated by the whole Church as a sign of unity and
respect towards the Holy See. It was built by the Emperor Constantine (307-337)
and dedicated to Christ the Saviour. It was also the site of the Papal
residence until the 14th century.
“THE DEATH OF A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY is an event that should lead beyond the perspectives
of “this world” and draw the faithful into the true perspective of faith in the
risen Christ.” – No 1687 Catechism of the Catholic Church.
