BE READY! Today’s Readings tell us that we should always seek the light of Christ in our daily lives and keep burning brightly the light received at baptism. St Paul reminds us that as Christians we have the true hope of the Resurrection and that we should not grieve like those who have no hope.

CONFIRMATION 2006: In St Mary’s church, Clontibret, on Thursday 18 May at 6pm. We will be joined by the children from Tyholland parish.

Other Dates for Parish Events in 2006 will be available shortly once they are agreed.

 

Visitation of the Sick and Housebound: The sick and infirm will be attended in their homes in the St. Mary’s / Clontibret area  on Friday11th.

 

DEDICATION OF ST JOHN LATERAN: On Wednesday next (9th Nov) the Church celebrates the Feast of the Dedication of the Basilica of St John Lateran in Rome. Why this church alone? It is the “Mother of all churches of the City and the World”. It is the Cathedral church of the Pope, as Bishop of Rome. The Feast is celebrated by the whole Church as a sign of unity and respect towards the Holy See. It was built by the Emperor Constantine (307-337) and dedicated to Christ the Saviour. It was also the site of the Papal residence until the 14th century.

VISITING THE CEMETERY- You are encouraged to visit the graves of your loved ones during November.

CO. MONAGHAN ALZHEIMER SOCIETY Are holding a Guest Tea in the Sports Complex, Threemilehouse, on Friday 11th Nov at 8pm sharp. Music by Castleblayney Ceili band.  Admission €15.  Your support is very much appreciated.

 

The AGM of the Monaghan Town and North Monaghan Hospice Homecare Movement/Cancer Treatment Support will be held on Monday 7th Nov in the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan. Doors open at 8pm, commencing at 8.30pm sharp. All are welcome

GROWING IN FAITH  3RD  YEAR  on Thursday 10th Nov at 8pm in Cremartin GAA Club.  Meeting for ‘Talk for Young People’ with Fr. Martin Reilly (Youth Ministry) and some youth from the parish who visited Cologne.

 

CONSERVATION GRANT SCHEME – 2006   An information meeting will be held in the Hillgrove Hotel,  on Tue 15th Nov at 8pm. You are welcome to attend.
