“Come to me all you who labour and are overburdened and I will give you rest” In today’s Gospel reading, we find this teaching being preached to a people overburdened with legalisms, arrogance and suffering. Suffering tears open the human heart and exposes its depths. In the teachings of Jesus, we find rest.

BLESSING OF THE GRAVES St. Michael’s Monday 25 July, All Saint’s Wednesday 27 July, and St. Mary’s Friday 29 July.  All at 7.30pm. You are asked to tidy your family plots and to place any rubbish in the skips provided in each of our cemeteries.

HOLY COMMUNION PYXS: If you have pyxs for the distribution of Holy Communion please return them to one of the Sacristans as soon as possible. These are given on loan to families of a sick person for carrying the Eucharist. A number of pyxs have not been returned and we are running short of them in our three churches. We would appreciate your co-operation in this matter.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: We will soon begin the process of formation for new Eucharistic Ministers. There is still some time for people to come forward and offer their services to the Church through this special ministry. If you are interested, please give your name to one of the priests.

 

CAOGA  SOCIAL  SERVICES  are continuing throughout the summer.  Our next evening is on Tuesday next, 5th July, at 8.30pm in Clontibret Community Centre.  Music by Tailback, Admission €4.  Come and enjoy!

SELF HELP DEVELOPMENT INTERNATIONAL will hold a Church Gate collection in the parish on 30th and 31st July. The Self Help Grow Fund implements development work in all parts of Africa and supports other mini projects in different parts of the world. The aim is to place people back with the dignity of being able to produce their own food, have a surplus to sell and protect the environment.
