OUR DEAD: We pray for Josie Kelly, Monaghan, (mother of Brendan Kelly, 11 Moys) whose funeral took place during the week; Phil Brannigan, formerly of Annagh who died in the USA (brother of Packie Brannigan, Annagh).  May they rest in peace.

 

FEASTS: St Vincent de Paul (Tues 27th). Born 1580 he founded the Congregation of the Mission (the Vincentians). Patron of Charitable Works. Feast of the Archangels)- (Thurs 29th). Saints Michael, Gabriel & Raphael. St Michael is the protector of Christians, and soldiers.  Annyalla church is dedicated to him. St Colman (Fri 29th). Patron of Clontibret parish. A 7th century holy man who led the Church in this area. Friday is also the Feast of St Jerome, Doctor of the Church. Lived 340-420. St Therese of Lisieux (Sat 1st). St Therese died at the Carmel in Lisieux on 30 Sept 1897. Patron of the missions and florists and of France. Doctor of the Church.

RADIO MASS: Shannonside/Northern Sound will record the Vigil Mass in St Mary’s this Saturday, to be broadcast today after the 10am News. Many thanks to all who helped prepare for the Liturgy.

GRAVE PLOTS: At the meeting of the Parish Finance Council on Tuesday 13 Sept, it was decided that the cost of new graves in our parish cemeteries would be set at €100 per single plot. When a grave plot is booked, the parish will issue an invoice for the required amount, which can be paid to the Parish Priest. Cheques should be made payable to “Parish of Clontibret Churches”. Over the coming year, it is intended to have updated maps made of all cemeteries in the parish. We are also putting in place a system of recording grave plots that are booked in advance.

 

CANDLE SHRINES: With effect from 1 October 2005, the price of candles at the candle shrines will increase to 25 c.  This is due to increased candle costs.

DOOHAMLET  YOUTH  CLUB   Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 27th September, in Doohamlet Hall at 9pm.  All Committee Members, Leaders and Parents of teenagers are welcome.  The will re-open shortly.

CREMARTIN  SOCIAL  CLUB  Will resume on Thursday 29th September.  Music by Robert Browne.  Admission €3.00.  Everyone welcome.

 

COMMUNITY  GAMES   AGM  takes place in Doohamlet Hall on Thursday 29th September, at 8pm.  Support would be greatly appreciated.

 

CHURCH  GATE  COLLECTION  Community Games Church Gate Collection will take place on the first weekend in October.

 

LADIES  FOOTBALL  AGM  on Monday 26th September at 9pm in Connolly’s Lounge.
