TODAY’S GOSPEL: Today’s Liturgy of the Word reminds us that life is more than what it may seem to be. Wisdom is the quality, which allows us to see beyond the here and now to the eternal realities (see First Reading). Matthew, the skilled teacher, knows how to draw from his treasure, things both old and new.

DEAD: We pray for John Mooney, Croghan, whose funeral took place in St.Michaels on Tuesday 19th; Molly Flanagan Lismagunshion, whose funeral took place on Friday 22nd in St Michael’s, Thomas Woods Funeral Mass St.Marys today 12.noon and Eileen Leavy, Castleblayney, who died during the week. Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord!

BILLEADY NATIONAL SCHOOL RE-UNION: A special Mass has been arranged for the intentions of the Past Pupils and Past Teachers of Billeady N.S. on Sunday 28th. August at 11.30am in St Michael’s Church, Annyalla.

 

BLESSING OF THE GRAVES St. Michael’s on this Monday 25 July, All Saint’s on this Wednesday 27 July, and St. Mary’s on this Friday 29 July.  All at 7.30pm. Mass for Our Dead on each of the evenings, followed by Rosary and Blessing. Please tidy your family plots and place any rubbish from graves in the skips provided.

 

PARISH INSURANCE: The bill for 2005/06 will be due at the end of the month. Last year, the total cost of insurance of parish property, including the community centres at Clontibret and Doohamlet, was over €17,000. The Parish Finance Council is currently reviewing our Insurances. We have no envelope collection this year, so we ask you, if you can, to please increase your weekly contributions over the coming month or so, in order to help offset these costs.

 

CLONTIBRET CAMOGIE: Congratulations to the Senior Team on their Victory in the Senior Championship Final. Coaching for beginners continues each Tuesday at 11.00am. in Clontibret.

 

CAOGA SOCIAL SERVICES Meeting on Monday 25 July, at 8pm, in Clontibret Community Centre.

NATIONAL LEARNING NETWORK The Access Programme is aimed at adults (16+) who may have learning or other disabilities.  It provides participations with the educational, social and community skills necessary to progress to further training or employment.
