WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY begins on Wednesday next and lasts until Jan 25th. The theme this year is “Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them” (Mt 18:20). You are encouraged to pray for Christian Unity this week, especially an end to sectarianism in our own country.

FEASTS:         Tues 17th- St Anthony. Died in the year 356 AD. Father of Monasticism.

Fri 20th- St Fabian. Martyred in 250. Was Pope for 14 years.  Also, St Sebastian. A soldier who was martyred in the early 4th century by the Roman Emperor Diocletian.

Sat 21st- St Agnes. A young and beautiful Roman girl who was also martyred in the 4th century. Patron of engaged couples and young girls.

 

PARISH FINANCE COUNCIL: Meeting in Fr Paudge’s house on Tuesday 24 January at 8.30pm.

 

ANNYALLA CHURCH CAR PARK PLANS: Suggestions should be made in writing by next Sunday, via the Offertory Collection.

 

PRESENTATION FUNCTION TO SEAN MULLIGAN: A small number of tickets are still available at Scoil Mhuire, Braeside Stores, McCarville’s Shop and Clontibret O’Neills GAA Club. This event takes place on Friday next in the Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan, at 9pm and includes a Hot Buffet and excellent music.

O’NEILL PIPE BAND 34th AGM takes place on Sunday 15th Jan., in Clontibret Comm. Centre at 12noon. All past, present and parents of members please attend.
