12th March 2006     2nd Sunday of Lent

SACRIFICE: Lent is a time for making sacrifices. However, few of us are asked like Abraham to sacrifice an only son. But we all have Isaacs in our lives – those possessions and obsessions which dominate and distance us from God. Lent is the time to identify them and sacrifice them. The story in today’s first reading from the Book of Genesis is depicted in one of the sanctuary windows in St Michael’s church at Annyalla.
